Celebrating Healthy Heart Month
The Hilton Head (SC) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated held their February 2023 business meeting and made it a point to don red to show support for Healthy Heart Month. A table was set up where sisters could obtain literature and brochures on heart health. They received a little red bag with a healthy heart recipe for Spicy Chicken Lettuce Wraps, a heart pin, and a Valentine.
The Hilton Head (SC) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated held its first Breast Cancer Awareness Seminar on October 8, 2022. Chapter members were joined by friends, family and residents of the community at Agape Family Life Center in Hardeeville, South Carolina.
The attendees gathered in the beautifully decorated room adorned in pink and listened to presentations from our supporting partners from Beaufort Memorial Hospital and Volunteers in Medicine of Bluffton. The highlight of the event was the breast simulator which demonstrated how to detect a lump. At the conclusion of the event, guests were treated to a delicious meal prepared by the Okan Foodtruck.

Our Walk For Healthy Living
Members of the Hilton Head (SC) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated were joined by their families and friends as they participated in the annual Walk for Healthy Living. The walk is a national program that encourages members and their communities to walk more to improve their health. Our members and guests enjoyed the warm, balmy weather as they walked along the sandy seashore of Hilton Head Island. Thirteen members of our Chapter participated and logged almost 160,000 steps. The fellowship was enhanced by meeting new friends while enjoying an array of healthy snacks and drinks. Special thanks are given to the Health and Human Services Facet for spearheading this event under the leadership of Gloria Statham. Plans for next year’s event are already in place.

Deep Well Project - Hilton Head Island
The Health and Human Services Facet presented oral hygiene gift bags to the clients of the Agape Family Life Center on February 19, 2022 and to the Deep Well Project - Hilton Head Island, on February 24, 2022. A job well done sisters!
