2019 - 2020 - 2021

The Hilton Head (SC) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated is taking part in the Area Signature Program - Artist Noir. After partnering with H. E. McCracken Middle School and local artist Amiri Ferris, by March 9, 2020, 200 art students had begun working on the project. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, students have been instructed to continue to work at home on the moniker - "I Am." Their artistic renderings (some can be seen below) will be part of the mural the artist and students will be working on. One of Ferris' murals can be seen below.

The project goals are to:

  • Add an inspirational and motivating mural to H. E. McCracken Middle School.

  • Inspire students and increase their appreciation for the Visual Arts.

  • Increase students' self-worth and self-esteem.

  • Give students a positive way of self-expression.

  • Give students an opportunity to participate in and contribute to a school activity.

In April of 2019, the Hilton Head (SC) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated supported H. E. McCracken Middle School, Bluffton, SC in their production of “Hairspray Jr.” The performance was junior Broadway quality and the house was packed with parents, grandparents, siblings, neighbors, teachers, friends and our chapter members. It was phenomenal to have this wonderful turnout on both nights (Friday and Saturday) and it was fun!

H. E. McCracken Middle School is a STEAM school with heavy community support. It is foreseeable that the kids will be productive society members. Our chapter will continue to be supportive.
